The Other Side of The Lokpal

Hi friends..!!

These days this Lokpal thing is the hottest issue..from the breaking news to the editorial views, its just everywhere..irrespective of the fact whether u want it or not, u r in its favour or against it, u just can't escape it.

Ok, so a vast majority of the nation has voiced  in favour of Mr. Anna Hazare and his "civil society" to get the Lokpal bill. Now, i m not gonna comment whether the tricks and techniques of this anti-corruption movement is right or not, there's already loads of debate going over it, no matter adding a bit more to the junkyard.

What i feel is don't u think we are seeing only one side of the supercool, supertrendy, superpowerful, supercop, superhero THE GREAT INDIAN LOKPAL..?? or rather seeing only what we are shown..??
Since the time this anti-corruption movement led by Mr. Anna Hazare and his team mates has kicked off, we have been told that he'll have all the power to curb corruption. From the PM to the peon, every one will be under his radar. (now personlly i think, that's a bit too much job for one person, isn't it?) Every thing from the nation wide rallies to indefinite fast to peaceful protets to constant threats of another agitation. (actually the last part is the most irritating, if u want to do it, sir why don't u just do it. spare us the agony of reading the same news almost every other day).

Now, my question is, is this Mr. Lokpal actually capable of doing all the work in his curriculum vitae? i mean, seriously how can u expect someone who has his eyes on from the peon to the PM to do his job effectively? Besides bringing even the PM under his scrutiny and making him (PM) answerable to him (lokpal) isn't giving the lolpal a super cop like stature..??

See guys, what my point is, this is India, here, even the higly trusted CVC can be found guilty of the charges of corruption. The corruption bug is damn contagious, I needn't say. So what guarantee it is that the lokpal will be someone 'doodh ka dhula', pure, serene or almightily honest. Can Mr. Hazare give in writing that the lokpal will be someone inclusive of the above mentioned qualities, forever...?? What will u do guys, What will the nation do if a person as powerful as the lokpal goes corruption smitten..?? We are planning to give a lot of power to the lokpal, even many of u on the other side of this blog have voiced for it..but where's the guarantee and surity that he'll do full justice to his job.

India already has enough laws and provisions to fight the evil - CORRUPTION, there's no need for a new Lokpal Act 2011. (atleast think about the students who are doing law, please do not burden them with one more act, have mercy on them.) If only our policymakers and law executers get vigilant and take a bold stand against corruption, ours will be a great country.

Frankly speaking, with all due respect to Mr. Anna Hazare and his version of the lokpal bill he's so adamant to get passed this winter session, I would say no lokpal, no Mr. Hazare or any such thing has the power to fight corruption. If there's any one who can fight corruption, it's only I, U AND WE. Only we can make it possible, and yes that too without the lokpal.

We can start that from the elections itself. Vote for the best, eligible and suitable candidate, not for the candidate from ur caste or ur favorite party. And do vote, no use saying "is desh ka kuch nahi ho sakta, yahan to system hi bekar hai." Guys, however the system is, we have made it that way. Quoting lines from the movie Rang De Basanti, no country is perfect, we'll have to make it perfect. Also, we must obey the rules, i mean no use breaking the traffic signal, then paying a small 'rishwat' of Rs. 100, or paying Rs. 500 under the table to a clerk to get a file forwarded quickly, and then saying " I AM ANNA" or wearing t-shirts of India Against Corruption..come off it dude, u can't fight corruption this way.

If we bring a revolution (no, i m not saying anything about jail bharo type andolan or fast unto death or the worst, tod phod protests), we can be the change we want to. Its all a question of mindset. Let's Do it guys..our country needs us..!!
