Kya Hota Hai Saccha Pyaar...

Jab koi tumhe pooche kya hai tumhe usse pyaar,
Aur tum bejhijak kaho, haan wohi to hai mera yaar.
Shayad use kehte hain pyaar…

Baaton me ho agar dil ka dimag ki jagah istemal,
Aur uski har baat, uski har ada ka ho istakbal,
Shayad use kehte hain pyaar…

Bayan na karein jab lafz tumhare,
Keh jayein tumhari aankhein kahani sari
Shayad use kehte hain pyaar…

Dhadkano ka na ho hisaab, waqt ka na ho thikana,
Dil se awaaz nikle, har pal, bus mujhe hain tumhara saath nibhana,
Shayad use kehte hain pyaar…

Tum sang bitaye har lamhe ko hai sahejne ki aas;
Rab se sirf itni dua ki tum raho humesha dil ke paas,
tum sang thi meri palkein khushi se num,
sang tumhare reh gaye mere alfaz kum,

Tumse tha to bahot kuch kehna, sab reh gaya adhoora.
Haan, tumhare hone se khud ki zindagi ka ehsaas hua mujhe poora.

Gar ho sake to laut aao sirf ek baar,
Kehna chahta hun tumse, haan ho hi gaya tha mujhe bhi pyaar.

Kya Sachmuch Dharti Swarg Samaan Hai?

Kal kaha kisine mujhse,
Manushya hi to hai sarvashaktimaan.
Uske hone ki wajah se,
Ye dharti hai swarg samaan.

Ye dharti hai swarg samaan,
Ye dharti hai swarg samaan,
Yeh sawal kar raha ab mujhe pareshan,
Kya sachmuch hai dharti swarg samaan?

Duniya mein faila bhrashtachar hai,
Yehi bane aaj ke niyam aur achaar hain,
Sankat me hai humari aan,
kya sachmuch hai dharti swarg samaan?

Jhooth aur burai ka hai bolbala,
Netaaon aur afsoron ka hai gadbadzala,
100 me se yahan 99 hai beimaan,
Kya sachmuch hai dharti swarg samaan?

Baarud aur hathiyaar ka hai purzor vyapaar,
Tabaahi ki kagaar pe khada hai humara sansaar,
Har taraf faila hai maut ka saamaan,
Kya sachmuch dharti hai swarg samaan?

Pradushan se duniya hai bezaar,
Charo taraf sirf hai hahakaar,
Uska zimmedaar hai sirf insaan,
Kya sachmuch hai dharti swarg samaan?

Mera bhaarat mahan,
Dharmanirpekhsta humari shaan,
Lekin Kabhi Ram, toh kabhi Allah ke naam pe hai jaati kai jaan,
Kya sachmuch dharti hai swarg samaan?
Kya sachmuch dharti hai swarg samaan?
Kya sachmuch dharti hai swarg samaan?

Where is The Indian?

Where is the INDIAN?

Few days back I attended an elocution competition in my college. The speaker was saying something about us, the Indians, our nationality, and giving age old examples of the age old phrase ‘unity in diversity’. The speech made us all feel proud as “We, the citizens of India”, but also somewhere deep down my heart; it left me with few burning questions. Are we really united? Are we actually one? Does India actually posses the hypothetically propounded quality of ‘unity in diversity’? The recent happenings in our country further fuelled my thoughts.

Let me first share with you few facts about our motherland. The Indian economy is the world's eleventh-largest by nominal GDP and third-largest by purchasing power parity (PPP). Following market-based economic reforms in 1991, India became one of the fastest-growing major economies; it is considered a newly industrialised country. A nuclear weapons state and a regional power, it has the third-largest standing army in the world and ranks ninth in military expenditure among nations. India is a federal constitutional republic governed under a parliamentary system consisting of 28 states and 7 union territories. India is a pluralistic, multilingual, and multiethnic society.

The above mentioned facts gladly borrowed from Wikipedia and other such sources; make us feel proud, don’t they? They surely do. But this is what we tell to the whole world. Let’s now see what has been going in our country since a few days. Probably that will help shape my idea more clearly to you.

In July 2012 the Indian state of Assam saw outbreaks of riots between indigenous Bodos and migrants of Bangladeshi origin. The first incident was reported to have taken place on 20 July 2012. As of 8 August 2012, 77 people had died and over 400,000 people were taking shelter in 270 relief camps, after being displaced from almost 400 villages. Eleven people have been reported missing. On 27 July 2012, Assam's Chief Minister Tarun Gogoi blamed the national government for "delay in army deployment to riot-hit areas". The next day, Indian Prime Minister Manmohan Singh visited the relief camps in Kokrajhar and called the recent violence a blot on the face of India. Indian Home Minister P. Chidambaram visited the state on Monday, 30 July to review the security situation and the relief and rehabilitation measures being taken. Lok Sabha member from Bodoland, Sansuma Khunggur Bwiswmuthiary blamed illegal immigration for the violence in the state. This violent outbreak follows ethnic tensions between the indigenous Bodo community and Muslims immigrants from Bangladesh who settled in Assam. While the Muslim community state that they are descendants of East Bengali Muslims brought to Assam during the British Raj, local communities allege that the Muslim population has increased, boosted by refugees from the erstwhile East Pakistan prior to the 1971 Indo-Pakistani War and by subsequent illegal migrants from Bangladesh.

Now this particular incident of Assam riots triggered a chain of events across the nation. A protest by several Muslim organisations was organised at the Azaad Maidan, Mumbai, to condemn the attacks on their community in Myanmar and Assam. Somehow, the protest got violent injuring 50 and killing two people. Also there was destruction of public property including the Amar Jawan Jyoti.

Also highly intensified rumours of north east Indians being attacked spread like wild fire which led to flee of north Indians from metropolitan and multicultural cities like Pune, Mumbai, Bengaluru, Chennai, and Hyderabad.

Another incident which involves a highly respected and honourable personality from Maharashtra declaring publicly to brand every Bihari as an infiltrator and threatening to send them back happened not many days ago.

My point in telling you all this story all over again which you must have read on the net and in the newspapers a million times and seen on the television news channel a zillion times? The point is, are we one?

In India, it’s quite common to find a Bengali, Bihari, Maharashtrian, Guajarati, Tamilian, Punjabi, and other such provincial representatives, isn’t it?  But why is it so difficult to find one nationality called Indian. All we hear and see is a Maharashtrian representative taking a dig at the immigrants from Bihar and then the leaders from Bihar trashing both, the comment as well as the person who made it.

We have a prosperous and well to do state which we fondly call Andhra Pradesh, but a particular section over there is hell bent on dividing the state into two and having a separate state called Telangana. The demand for a Bodoland has raised its head from time to time. Loving ones state is one thing, but considering it a supreme one and belittling others is not. And it is just unacceptable when we belong to one nation called INDIA.

It isn’t that we don’t show our nationality or our unity for that sake. Every time the nation has faced a terror attack or things of that sort, the whole nation stood up, took to the social media, conducted peace protests and candle marches, voiced the opinion of oneness. But what happened after the incident was subdued by the factor called time? You probably have the answer, don’t you?

The great leaders like Mahatma Gandhi, Chandra Shekhar Azad, Bhagat Singh, and Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel worked throughout the life and gave their blood, sweat and bone for the nation. Yes, that lucky and proud nation is which you and I call India. Are we doing justice to their preaching and works? You are really smart; you have the answer of this question as well.

Guys, the nation is going through a tough phase. We have to deal with gargantuan monsters like terrorism, Maoism, recession and corruption. For that we need to be united. The country needs us.

Folks, we need to find someone whom we call INDIAN. We need to rise above our provincial stature and be one single voice. Let us be the voice of an Indian. Let us cease to be a Bengali, Punjabi, Gujarati, Bihari or Maharashtrian. Let us all become an Indian. That my dear friends; is the true discovery of India. And that will actually prove that we are one and ‘unity in diversity’ is not some age old saying but a genuine quality that our nation possesses.

The First Conversation

                                                      The First Conversation
I gather all the courage I have and finally make a call to my crush for the first time. I am nervous, I am scared, I am excited, and I am tensed. My heart is beating at an unbelievable rate. My mind is blank, but my heart is filled with emotions. The first ring, and I can sense the sweat beads appearing on my forehead.
But thankfully she picks the call at the second ring. was she expecting a call from me, I will never know. I will never ever ask her.
But in this moment, I say a meek hello and stupidly ask, "hey, remember me?"  (Of course she does, u idiot)..fortunately she answers with a confident one and says "of course, i do" (and then I can almost hear my heart and brain fighting. Heart says, "I told u she has a thing for u." Brain says, "as if she has nothing better to do." and then I tell them, "shut up u both. let me talk." They diligently obey)
But on the positive side, she's confident and makes good talk. I finally gain back my confidence gradually. And now I am my original self. The master of communication. The wisdom king. The champion of silly but humorous one liners. Now I start making sense. I make her smile, I make her laugh. I feel like the king of the world. I want the moment to stop right there. (brain interrupts, "dude, not possible according to the fundamental laws of physics..!!" wtf)
Finally, time to disconnect the call. And even though I have been the champion "loveguru" to all my friends, now I want to express my feelings to her. I want to say "I love you. I always did. I always will. Just be mine. Give me a chance and allow me to show you how much I love you." but I actually end up saying something which sounds like, "we can be friends, right?" (bloody coward) and when she says yes, the word matters to me more than the sentence "I love you too".
I am in love. I am so much in love. And i know i am damned cause she seems too good for me. But for the  moment, I don't want to think too much. I just want to bask in the success of my first move. Finally I managed to talk to her. Finally I was able to break the ice and shed away all my inhibitions. But yes, I do love her. I just wish someday I gather enough courage to express it to her. But that story will be some other day...

The civil society taught me...
A lot is being said and written about Anna Hazare and the working of the Civil society(mostly negative) these days. But this isn’t fair. Whatever their methods be, they have taught so many things to me. Here i share them with u.
1.           I am above the parliament.
No not kidding, I actually am. OK, I’ll prove this to you. I am a citizen of India, and every citizen has the power to elect the parliament and tell them that they haven’t done the job, thus, we, the citizens are powerful than the parliament and since I am a citizen of India, I am above the parliament. (now pls, don’t burst out laughing, Mr. Arvind Kejriwal used similiar statements to defend his statement ANNA ABOVE THE PARLIAMENT)
2.       I can justify any act of mine.
Yup i can do that, just as Madam Kiran Bedi did. First travel in the economy class and then, claim for the business class. Get donations from the Microsoft, and still charge the students. And she defends the act saying since when has saving money or charity become an act of corruption. Awesome..!! why don’t these ideas ever click me even though I m a CA student..??..if only Mr. A Raja, Mr. Suresh Kalmadi and Ma’am Kanimozhi knew this art of defence, they wouldn’t have been behind the bars.
3.       I can get any bill passed.
Now that’s the easiest part. All I need is a group of close friends, a heavy lunch (what..?? am i not suppossed to have some heavy food before kicking off a 3 day fast..??), some public support (easily manageable) and two three local news channel (i need some coverage to get my voice heard otherwise who cares.)
The prominent bills in my plan of action are:
(i) the Right to Boyfriend, Girlfriend Act
(ii) The Student Minimum Attendance Act. (7.5 % from 75%)
(iii) The Luxurious Commodities Act (subsidy on all iPhones, tablets, branded clothes, well that’s a long list)
(iv) suggestions are open, i may lend my voice to some of ur bills too.
4.           Indefinite hunger strike is the greatest weapon.
Yes guys, it actually is. I’ll tell u how. Ask ur parents to get u the iPhone 4 or else u’ll go on an INDEFINITE HUNGER STRIKE, trust me, u’ll get atleast the iPhone 3 (this trick is worth trying, seriously.) And if u aren’t satisfied, give them a tentative date, and tell them u’ll start a 3-day hunger strike. Most probably u’ll get it this time.

Stop critcising the civil society friends, after all they have taught us so much..!! JJ

The Other Side of The Lokpal

Hi friends..!!

These days this Lokpal thing is the hottest issue..from the breaking news to the editorial views, its just everywhere..irrespective of the fact whether u want it or not, u r in its favour or against it, u just can't escape it.

Ok, so a vast majority of the nation has voiced  in favour of Mr. Anna Hazare and his "civil society" to get the Lokpal bill. Now, i m not gonna comment whether the tricks and techniques of this anti-corruption movement is right or not, there's already loads of debate going over it, no matter adding a bit more to the junkyard.

What i feel is don't u think we are seeing only one side of the supercool, supertrendy, superpowerful, supercop, superhero THE GREAT INDIAN LOKPAL..?? or rather seeing only what we are shown..??
Since the time this anti-corruption movement led by Mr. Anna Hazare and his team mates has kicked off, we have been told that he'll have all the power to curb corruption. From the PM to the peon, every one will be under his radar. (now personlly i think, that's a bit too much job for one person, isn't it?) Every thing from the nation wide rallies to indefinite fast to peaceful protets to constant threats of another agitation. (actually the last part is the most irritating, if u want to do it, sir why don't u just do it. spare us the agony of reading the same news almost every other day).

Now, my question is, is this Mr. Lokpal actually capable of doing all the work in his curriculum vitae? i mean, seriously how can u expect someone who has his eyes on from the peon to the PM to do his job effectively? Besides bringing even the PM under his scrutiny and making him (PM) answerable to him (lokpal) isn't giving the lolpal a super cop like stature..??

See guys, what my point is, this is India, here, even the higly trusted CVC can be found guilty of the charges of corruption. The corruption bug is damn contagious, I needn't say. So what guarantee it is that the lokpal will be someone 'doodh ka dhula', pure, serene or almightily honest. Can Mr. Hazare give in writing that the lokpal will be someone inclusive of the above mentioned qualities, forever...?? What will u do guys, What will the nation do if a person as powerful as the lokpal goes corruption smitten..?? We are planning to give a lot of power to the lokpal, even many of u on the other side of this blog have voiced for it..but where's the guarantee and surity that he'll do full justice to his job.

India already has enough laws and provisions to fight the evil - CORRUPTION, there's no need for a new Lokpal Act 2011. (atleast think about the students who are doing law, please do not burden them with one more act, have mercy on them.) If only our policymakers and law executers get vigilant and take a bold stand against corruption, ours will be a great country.

Frankly speaking, with all due respect to Mr. Anna Hazare and his version of the lokpal bill he's so adamant to get passed this winter session, I would say no lokpal, no Mr. Hazare or any such thing has the power to fight corruption. If there's any one who can fight corruption, it's only I, U AND WE. Only we can make it possible, and yes that too without the lokpal.

We can start that from the elections itself. Vote for the best, eligible and suitable candidate, not for the candidate from ur caste or ur favorite party. And do vote, no use saying "is desh ka kuch nahi ho sakta, yahan to system hi bekar hai." Guys, however the system is, we have made it that way. Quoting lines from the movie Rang De Basanti, no country is perfect, we'll have to make it perfect. Also, we must obey the rules, i mean no use breaking the traffic signal, then paying a small 'rishwat' of Rs. 100, or paying Rs. 500 under the table to a clerk to get a file forwarded quickly, and then saying " I AM ANNA" or wearing t-shirts of India Against Corruption..come off it dude, u can't fight corruption this way.

If we bring a revolution (no, i m not saying anything about jail bharo type andolan or fast unto death or the worst, tod phod protests), we can be the change we want to. Its all a question of mindset. Let's Do it guys..our country needs us..!!

                                                                                                                                   Jai Hind
